"A Steadfast Profile of Pride & Progress!

This is where you will find information about the South Central District of The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc.  We are comprised of business and professional women and youth clubs in the states of Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

At this time in our history, we feel privileged and proud to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, and our new First Family.  This is history in the making for our country, and we of the South Central District send him our promise to resolve to maintain the standard he has set for all of us as we continue the work of our Association.  Our District Mantra:  The Proud South Central District - "A Steadfast Profile of Pride & Progress!" depicts our commitment to excellence in our programmatic thrusts carried out through our clubs with their volunteerism, community service projects and recognition activities.  Focusing on our national mandates:  Health, Education, Employment, Economic Development, and Women's History, our clubs work diligently to keep our communities wonderful places in which to live and work.  We mentor our extremely active Youth Clubs to do the same, and the torch is passed on to them in order for the cycle of service to continue.

As the prize-winning South Central District, we are one of the oldest districts of our national organization, and we are proud of that distinction and involvement.  We are eagerly looking forward to the convening of our 47th Annual District Conference scheduled to convene March 13 - 15, 2009 in Little Rock, Arkansas.  We will be inducting two new clubs into our membership, and will again engage the surrounding community by recognizing "unsung" heroes during our HOPE Awards Luncheon, and to present books to elementary schools for their libraries.

Our Youth will be conducting their Tree Planting activity on the grounds of the Little Rock Nine Museum or Philander Smith College, and making their program presentations on Friday evening highlighting the community service activities they have accomplished since the last conference.   They will also participate in the Suitcase Players and the Oratorical competition in preparation for their competitions at the national convention in Buffalo, New York in July, 2009.

Our national association's signature program - The Vocal Arts Competition for Emerging Artists – will be also be open to the public and one of the highlights of the Conference. In this event, college students pursuing classical voice performance and opera as a career, compete for scholarships and then go on to compete at our national convention which will be in Buffalo, New York this year.

Our Conference also offers a retail business opportunity to vendors who have various products and services to sell or advertise.  A "vendor community" space is set aside in the conference hotel that provides skirted tables and signage just for vendors to display their wares for our shopping delegation and the general public.  A vendor's application is available with all of the details for acquiring a booth or booths.  Please contact the District Office at 214-618-2316, or
scdnanbpwcinc@aol.com to get an application.

Welcome, again, to the South Central District website.  There are many opportunities to serve with us through one of our dynamic clubs.  We invite to you come again, or better yet -- contact one of our clubs and inquire about membership.  The South Central District is an exciting place to work and serve!  And Welcome to new clubs Greater North Dallas, and Little Rock!

Serving with Pride & Progress and in support of our new U. S. president and his leadership!
