HISTORY

The South Central District has existed under the jurisdiction of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. since 1953. The second smallest district within the National Association, the district has a membership in excess of 300. The following states comprise the South Central District: Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Currently clubs are established in Arkansas, Missouri and Texas.

The District Governor oversees the operation of the District and is responsible, along with the executive committee for convening its meetings. There are two major meetings.   Annually, in March, a District Conference is held where the adult and youth club members gather to share and disseminate information between the clubs and governing bodies, and to hold various competitions, elections and conduct other business of the District.
